Dancing to Let Go and Live– Intergenerational workshop

Move your body in celebration of Earth Day.
Led by Philadelphia artist Lela Aisha Jones, this workshop is designed for and open to people from all walks of life. It takes participant movers through various genres of dance that come from Black and African peoples and communities. In the experience participant movers will use freestyle, traditional, social, and popular dance forms to process challenges they face towards release and restoration.
Age:
8-10 with a participating guardian
11 to our most seasoned folks
Notes: Parents/Guardians are welcome to bring younger children but must manage them appropriately in the space.
Everyone in the room must participate. No observers.
We will do our very best to accommodate multiple ability orientations in the space. Please confer with us ([email protected]) in advance if you would like us to accommodate yourself or someone so we can prepare appropriately.
$5-$15 sliding scale, at the door
space is limited, please come early
Refreshments served .
The workshop will be followed by a panel discussion “Black, Brown and Native Bodies in Performance”
